Digital X-rays - Digital radiography uses a sensor connected directly to a computer. Once the image is received by the computer it may be displayed on the screen or printed out. The computer program allows the image to be enlarged, and manipulated to provide the best sharpness and clarity. Since there is no film, there is no waiting to develop the image in a darkroom and radiation exposure can be reduced as much as ten times. Intraoral camera - Often used to demonstrate close-up images of the teeth so that the patient can visualize conditions that may require treatment to correct.
Radio-surgery unit - Allows accurate soft tissue surgery without the use of a scalpel and also cuts without bleeding.
Electric handpiece - Has a great deal more torque than the air driven drill and is quieter and faster for most procedures. Panoramic X-ray - Provides a full view of the jaws and teeth to give the dentist the ability to diagnose many problems not covered by the smaller in-the-mouth X-rays.
Ultrasonic scalers and prophy-jet polishing systems - These tools allow the hygienist to do a quicker and more thorough job of cleaning teeth.
Ultrasonic units and speed fixed electric handpieces driving nickel-titanium rotary files - Allow the doctor to perform quicker and more accurate root canal procedures.
